It is my pleasure to participate in this discussion and be one of the participant. It is really interest topic and current issue. Also, as I just have read the topic and the comments that written by Carla and class's metes, it shows that how this issue strongly argumentative is. While Rema Alabdullah and Xinyi Tian are agree with this idea, Hai Ha Vu has an opposite attitude against this topic. All participants have their own opinion and their proves to support their attitude. My opinion about the topic is going to be in the same direction of Hai Ha's once, and I will add two reasons to prove my attitude. The first reason is that learning English as a second language might result in "weak people" in their native language. This concern can be clear when people start learning English to their kids in an early age. Another reason is that, as a consequence of learning English, people will be able to communicate with others form different culture, which could leads to misunderstand others culture and religion and this may result in tensions and culture conflict. As Hai Ha said, "people can save their money, time and energy if there is no need for learning English" and I add my vote to yours Hai Ha's!!!.
